Region Free Multi System PAL/NTSC DVD-players
If you do not speak Russian, just assume that all the players listed here are
good enough to watch PAL DVDs on your NTSC TV (these players are all
multistandard). The only problem you would experience is that not all of them
are multizone (USA is Region 1, Europe - Region 2, Russia - Region 5 etc). The
DVD player of choice here is CyberHome
CH-DVD 500, which supports region switching with the remote and it also does
the superb PAL/NTSC conversion.
Сколько раз вы хотели купить русский,
европейский или австралийский DVD, но
откладывали покупку - не на чем смотреть. Да,
в США мультисистемные телевизоры - роскошь,
такие аппараты стоят недешево. Не проще ли
найти недорогой DVD-плеер, который сам
выполнит все транскодирование? Плюс
желательна возможность обходить
региональное кодирование.
Этот список, безусловно будет неполон.
Наверняка что-то мы да пропустим.
Периодически те или иные плееры снимаются с
производства, появляются новые модели. Тем
не менее, какие-то модели для рассмотрения
есть.
Всячески не рекомендуем покупать модели,
в которых нужно заменять прошивку, чтобы
разблокировать плеер.

- press the stop button on your remote
- enter 1999 using the remote - a menu will pop up.
- select the region code using the remote (set it to ALL)
- confirm it, using enter
- leave the menu using the return button on your remote
- close the tray

- Press ENTER on the region, digit turns to "-"
- Press 0

- Press EJECT to clear the special menu.

- Power off the Main Power switch on the DVD player itself.
- Switch back the Power on the DVD player.
- Make sure no disc is loaded.
- Using your Remote control press Open/close button once (Red button).
- Press Setup button (You'll see the setup screen)
- Press 8 four times ( 8888 )
- Press "Next" (>>
button i.e. chapter change button)
- The setup screen flashes and you'll see that a new button "Version"
appears on the screen.
- Select 'Version' and use the arrow down directional key to change the region
from '1' to '0'.
